Introduces the physical principles that govern classical statics and strength of materials, and the design, analysis and use of wood, steel, timber, concrete and masonry materials in structural systems. Covers resistive systems for effects of wind and earthquakes. Includes field analysis of construction systems. Prerequisite: PHY 1001 or PHY 1999
