Emphasizes the characterization of nanomaterials. Uses a variety of microscopie, spectroscopie, particle size and pore size STM, AFM, SEM, TEM, confocal laser scanning microscopy, Raman spectroscopy/microscopy, pore size analysis, and a variety of particle size distribution analysis methods to prepare students for graduate materials research. Recommended: Background knowledge equivalent to CHE 1091 Nanoscience/Nanotechnology Laboratory and CHE 3260 Materials Science and Engineering or CHM 2002 Organic Chemistry 2 .
