Introduces current health issues in human physiological systems. Includes the practical application of current biomedical engineering technologies (pacemakers, defibrillators, ventilators, prosthetic joints, heart valves and others) to monitor, repair, replace or augment those systems. Recommended: Background knowledge equivalent to BIO 5210 Applied Physiology .
