Catalog description

Introduces techniques to study the cardiovascular system as an aid in designing treatments and diagnosing health conditions. Includes cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, system modeling and assist devices, cardiac bioelectricity and mechanisms of arrhythmias, hemodynamics and pulsatile blood flow, and other topics related to heart mechanics. Note: Undergraduate students from other disciplines may take this course with the instructor’s approval. Prerequisite: BME 3240 Corequisite: BME 3240
