Introduces the classes of biomaterials (polymers, metals, ceramics) and physiological responses to biomaterial implantation. Includes material properties, host responses and biomaterial characterization techniques. Prerequisite: BIO 1010 and CHM 1102 and ( MTH 1002 or MTH 1020 ) and PHY 1001
