Lectures and laboratories involving the theory and practice of current methods of nucleic acid manipulation. Techniques studied include restriction site mapping, end-labeling, sequencing, mRNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, DNA:DNA and DNA:RNA hybridization, PCR technology and DNA fingerprinting. (Q) Prerequisite: BIO 4120
