Catalog description

Provides the opportunity for students to participate in and/or lead weekly weather briefings with discussions that focus on aviation interests on a local to national scale. Offers instruction in the use of a wide range of data sources (including METARs, TAFs, aviation weather advisories, satellites, radar, upper air data and numerical weather prediction output) to effectively communicate to an audience a weather briefing and discussion with an aviation focus as might be provided by an aviation meteorologist or aircraft dispatcher. Prerequisite: AVS 1201 or OCN 2407
