Catalog description

This first of a two-part course sequence introduces the student to the role of the sonographer in diagnostic medical imaging. The student is taught the correct technique in achieving a full sonographic study and proper ultrasound protocols for each organ. This course will explain the normal anatomy, function and pathologies of the retroperitoneum and great vessels, liver, gallbladder, biliary tree and spleen. The course will also explain the normal anatomy, function and pathologies associated with the pancreas.
