Catalog description

This is a two-part combined lecture-lab series. In part 1, students will learn and practice the proper techniques to; perform and record goniometry, measure muscle strength and edema levels, and properly determine amount of assistance a patient requires during functional mobility in order to accurately report findings to the supervising physical therapist regarding patient progress. The topics and lab practice of normal vs. Abnormal gait and postural alignment will also be covered. Students will learn to document according to Medicare and legal guidelines including how to assimilate and carryout an established PT POC, as well as, the ethical, legal and fiscal responsibilities of documentation.
