Health Promotion and Role Development in Advanced Nursing Practice

Catalog description

This course provides the student with a strong theoretical foundation for wellness, health promotion, disease prevention, and maintenance of function across the lifespan. The emphasis is on theories and research to promote and preserve wellness lifestyles in client populations using epidemiological principles, disease risk appraisal and reduction, and other tools. Roles in advanced nursing practice as they relate to the health of diverse individuals, families and communities are identified and explored.
