Catalog description

This course introduces students to music appreciation by employing a listening-centered approach that familiarizes students with important musical works and terminologies that help develop active listening skills. The course also provides an overview of Western music history and a brief survey of American popular music by exploring cultural contexts as they relate to compositions, styles, forms, and performance settings.
