Catalog description

This course addresses the psychological impact of changing sex roles in our society and psychological aspects of gender. Emphasizes the interrelationships between the biological, anthropological, historical, legal, socio-psychological, and cultural influences on the roles of women and men in American society. Among the topics covered are: Theories of female development, gender identity development, relationships, mental health issues, aging and biology of sex. The role of women and the manner in which they are viewed and stereotyped is also discussed.
