Catalog description

This course introduces students to artificial mechanical ventilation; classification of ventilators; indications, contraindications and side effects of mechanical ventilators; and modes of ventilation. Alternatives to con-ventional ventilation will also be studied as well as a review of current literature on mechanical ventilation. Provides hands-on laboratory experience with different ventilators to prepare the student for clinical practice.
