Children's Literature in Early Childhood Education

Catalog description

This course exposes learners to a variety of literature for young children while focusing on research based instructional practices in early childhood education settings using fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. The course analyzes childrens literature expanding on cultural competence, differentiation, and individual learner experiences. This course equips learners to identify, select, analyze, and assess childrens literature including the development of analytical thinking, writing skills, and oral expression as they are applied to the study of childrens literature
