This course introduces fundamental concepts addressing facility planning and layout, material handling systems, work analysis, and design. Topics address determining facility requirements, facility location and layout, analysis and design of work space and flow, material handling systems, motion and time studies, and work sampling. Use of analytical and computerized techniques including simulation are applied to manufacturing, warehousing, and office planning.
