This lecture course introduces more advanced concepts in clinical dental hygiene including ultrasonic instrumentation, air polishing, care of dental implants, and nutritional counseling. In addition, students are provided instruction in dental pain control concepts and procedures to prepare them for hands-on application in the corequisite laboratory course.
