Catalog description

This intermediate level studio course provides continued training in modern dance technique. Emphasis is placed on exploring movement principles such as weight, momentum, breath, and spatial awareness to develop efficiency and expressiveness in the body. Coursework integrates physical practice with readings, observation, and discussion to encourage technical proficiency and critical understanding. Students engage in structured exercises and improvisational studies designed to enhance alignment, coordination, flexibility, and control while fostering an informed appreciation of modern dance as an evolving artistic discipline.
