Jazz I

Catalog description

This course introduces beginning-level students to the foundational principles of jazz dance. Emphasis is placed on developing proper body alignment, strength, balance, rhythmic awareness, and coordination. Students will gain an understanding of the historical and stylistic development of jazz dance as a performing art. No previous dance experience is required for successful participation in the course.
