Catalog description

This course will provide a solid legal foundation to help students perform their duties as a law enforcement officer. The duties of a law enforcement officer include responding to calls, patrolling, determining violations of law, making arrests, knowing when force should used, and investigating crimes. All of this means that students must have a basic knowledge of the law and be able to apply the law to specific situations. To act properly and effectively as law enforcement officers without infringing on individual rights, students must have an understanding of federal, state, and local laws.
