Catalog description

Introduces the student to the principles, structure and operations of managed care. The aspects of managed care contracting and the organization and delivery of health care services under this type of system are organized and delivered. Issues concerning consumer behavior, rationing, access, cost containment, regulation, competition, ethics regarding managed care and the implications of government sponsored programs including Medicare and Medicaid, value-based care are also addressed.
