Overview of Health and Medical Care as sociocultural phenomena, health behaviors, healthcare organizations, and health services delivery in social and historical context. Students will explore how America developed the world’s finest, most expensive, exceedingly fragmented and highly politicized healthcare system through economic, social, and political perspectives. Students will link history with current health delivery and financing challenges and discuss implications.
