Catalog description

This course examines sustainability through the lens of French and Francophone contexts, exploring how environmental, social, and economic dimensions intersect across diverse regions including metropolitan France, and Francophone regions, countries and territories (Quebec, French-speaking Africa, the Caribbean, and Pacific territories, etc.). Students will investigate key sustainability topics, such as urban sustainability initiatives, energy policy debates, and water management challenges. Through various case studies, students will analyze how Francophone societies balance tradition with innovation, economic development with environmental protection, and social equity with cultural preservation.
