Catalog description
This course provides information to the practical nursing student on advanced principles and skills related to medical-surgical clients and their conditions. The use of critical thinking to make problem - solving decisions about medical surgical clients' health care needs are presented. Medical-surgical concepts that are presented include respiratory, cardiac, neuro, digestive, hematologic, immunologic, endocrine, integumentary, and musculoskeletal systems. The course also includes health promotion and the wellness/illness continuum, as well as continuity of care for clients who have common diseases and disorders related to these systems.
