Catalog description
Calculus-based introduction to physics for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology majors, Biology majors, and students interested in a Biophysics minor or applications of physics to the life sciences. Mechanics, thermal and statistical physics. Computational methods including finite difference and kinetic Monte Carlo are used. Life science topics include diffusion, drug elimination, radioactive decay, chemical potential, osmosis, and biomechanics. Three lectures weekly.
