***This course carries an $892 course fee.*** Students will learn to respond to medical emergencies in the backcountry. This course focuses on identifying symptoms and providing treatments in the backcountry given minimal first aid resources. An emphasis is placed on methods for improvising and problem solving during medical emergencies. Successful completion of the class satisfies protocols from the Wilderness Medical Society and includes certification as a Wilderness First Responder through Sierra Rescue.
