INTERMEDIATE SEA KAYAKING

Catalog description

Students will continue to develop their sea kayak touring skills by adding expedition techniques. A multi-day expedition will expose participants to the equipment and methods used to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. Skills include advanced maneuvers, advanced rescue techniques, navigation, proper campsite selection, group travel techniques, and boat / equipment care and maintenance. Opportunities to work on Eskimo roll. Discussion of tides, currents and other ocean elements will be included.
