Catalog description

This course explores concepts related to restoration ecology, which is the process of understanding and assisting in the recovery of damaged, degraded, or destroyed ecosystems. This is a complex, interdisciplinary field that is increasingly important in a world of ongoing disturbances associated with expanding human populations, climate change, urbanization, energy development, poor land management, and pollution. This course seeks to provide an understanding of how to approach ecological restoration and metrics to measure success before, during and after implementation.
