Catalog description

This course will provide students with contextual knowledge and on-the-ground training that will prepare them to be successful prescribed fire practitioners. Students will learn basics of fire planning and permits, fire preparation, hose-lays and pumps, communication, fire patterns, and safe fire monitoring and mop-up. This course involves rigorous activity, including travel on steep and uneven ground and possible exposure to smoke.
