TEACHER PREPARATION VI PRACTICUM

Catalog description
This is a practicum course for educators who work with migrant students, multilingual learners, and/or diverse learners. The focus of the course is Teaching Performance Expectations 1 (TPE 1): Engaging and Supporting All Students in Learning. Participants will examine and develop ways to use technology to share information and maintain ongoing communication with students and families. The course emphasizes connecting student learning in subject matter to real-life contexts and promoting active learning experiences to engage student interest. This will include understanding and using the knowledge and life experiences a student brings to the classroom, as well as their cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, to engage them in learning. This course includes work experience in the school/classroom environment.
