Catalog description

This course is for educators who provide instructional assistance for migrant students, multilingual learners, and/or diverse learners. Students will explore and develop multiple-subject instructional content focusing on fundamental culturally relevant pedagogical tools and strategies. This course focuses on Teaching Performance Expectations 4.1 (TPE 4.1) Planning Instruction and Designing Learning Experiences for all Students. The course will include how instructors locate and apply information about their students' current academic status, content- and standards-related learning needs and goals, assessment data, language proficiency status, and cultural background for both short-term and long-term instructional planning purposes.
