Catalog description

***This course carries a $20 materials fee.*** Basic principles of both film (darkroom) and digital photography, including technique, design, and content. Students learn the basic properties of light, the functions of both film and digital cameras, lenses, control of exposure and development, basic processes of black and white darkroom printing, inkjet printing, editing, presentation of professional photographs through critiques and visualization and critical interpretation of photographs. Students will have to provide their own digital cameras, but film cameras can be checked out through the Art Department.
