Catalog description

This course is the second course of the two-course policy sequence and extends the foundation of Social Welfare Policy I by having students apply knowledge obtained from the first policy course regarding rudimentary analysis and begin to employ critical thinking skills to evaluate how policy impacts outcomes for clients. Students develop strategies to achieve social change, and social economic justice for families, groups, and communities. Emphasis is placed on understanding poverty and the various ways in which our society has responded to it over time.
