Catalog description

This course is designed to be taken concurrently with SPED 480: Seminar II Exceptional Children Field Experience. It provides candidates with placements in partnership schools within local education agencies, where they work alongside K–12 clinical educators in special education classrooms. Through this clinical experience, candidates further develop high-leverage teaching practices, including the delivery of specially designed instruction, the implementation of positive behavior interventions and supports, and the integration of technology to enhance student learning outcomes. The primary goal of this experience is to bridge theory and practice within authentic classroom settings, allowing candidates to contextualize and apply their knowledge while cultivating essential skills and professional dispositions required for effective special education practice.
