Introduction to Applied Behavior Analysis

Catalog description
This course provides an understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), characteristics of children with ASD, and best practices for assisting children and adults with functional communication acquisition, social skill development, and behavior change. This course presents an overview of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), an evidence-based method for promoting behavior change, teaching social skills, facilitating adaptive living skills, and enhancing communication methods. Successful completion of the course results in a certificate of completion for the 40-hour Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) course, leading towards RBT certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.
