Obstetrics and Women’s Health

Catalog description

This course introduces nursing concepts related to women’s health, pregnancy and care of the newborn. Building on the foundation of previous nursing courses and the nursing process, the student will explore nursing care for women with reproductive concerns as well as nursing care during preconception, perinatal, postpartum, and neonatal periods. Tasks of pregnancy, psychosocial adaptation, biological-behavioral concepts in obstetric nursing care will be examined.
