Catalog description

This course is intended to provide students an overview of material uses and issues in different energy conversion, harvesting, and storage systems and devices. Topics include energy production processes as well as material uses and performance requirements in fossil, nuclear, solar cell, fuel cell, bio, batteries, wind, hydrothermal, geothermal, and ocean energy systems. Each student will complete a detailed project in which they examine a particular material for energy generation and storage applications.
