3 or 4 3 or 3 0 or 2 This course is the first of a two-semester sequence that provides a background for students who are preparing to take calculus. Topics include sets, the real number system, exponents, radicals, polynomials, equations, inequalities, functions, relations, graphing, conic sections, and rational, exponential, and logarithmic functions. A graphing calculator is required. When taken for four credits, two hours of lab are included.
