Reading and Writing Memoir

Catalog description

An introduction to both short and long-form memoir-as-literature. A subgenre of creative nonfiction, the memoir applies the techniques of creative writing to first-person life writing. Topics may include, but are not limited to, coming-of-age, travel, nature, recovery, familial and cultural history. The course will be both reading- and writing-intensive.
