This advanced course explores contemporary and cutting-edge topics in Artificial Intelligence (AI). Building upon foundational concepts from CSC 230 (Introduction to AI) and CSC 325 (Machine Learning), this course focuses on the design, implementation, and critical analysis of modern AI systems. Topics include large language models (LLMs), transformer architectures, generative AI systems (GANs, diffusion models), reinforcement learning from human feedback (RLHF), AI agents and multi-agent systems, advanced computer vision, prompt engineering, and emerging paradigms such as neurosymbolic AI and federated learning. Students will engage in practical programming projects using modern AI frameworks and critically evaluate societal and ethical implications of contemporary AI technologies.
