Catalog description

This course aims to introduce students to the principles of design for sustainability, with emphasis on creative thinking and strategies for managing sustainable construction. Combination of lectures, readings, discussions, case analysis, and projects will be used to explore sustainable design of infrastructures and buildings with minimal impact on the environment. Topics include the integration of materials, human and financial aspects in the design, and water and energy management. Additional topics include including Life Cycle Costing, building assessment frameworks.
