Catalog description

Quantitative analysis of chemical systems emphasizing development of accurate and precise laboratory technique and statistical treatment of data applied to gravimetric, volumetric, acid-base, oxidation-reduction, compleximetric, and colorimetric methods of analysis. Basic theory of instrument design and operational parameter optimization of chemical instrumentation. Application to optical methods of analysis involving molecular and atomic refraction, polarization, scattering, emission, absorption, flurescence in the ultraviolet and visible regions of the spectrum. Includes computer applications. Offered even spring semesters.
