This course explores the science behind personal, occupational, and environmental health and safety using toxicology case studies on materials. Students describe the sources and handling of everyday and hazardous materials and wastes connecting topics across chemistry, biochemistry, and materials science. Preventative actions are highlighted to mitigate negative outcomes and impacts. Prerequisite(s): mathematic proficiency (see beginning of Science section).
