Catalog description

The cultures and traditions of African peoples survived despite the slave trade, in large part, through dance, music and religion. Students embody traditional and contemporary dances of West Africa; explore the sociocultural forces that evolved through the Diaspora focusing on the Caribbean; and engage in aesthetic inquiry and creative expression.
