Catalog description

This course explores the commercial, cultural, and artistic development of urban cultures in the Mediterranean and Near East regions in the ancient, medieval, and Islamic periods. Major case studies include Rome, Baghdad, Cairo, Jerusalem, and Constantinople/Istanbul. (G9: Other World Civilizations) Prerequisite(s): qualification for Presidential Scholars Program, or 3.5 GPA with approval of Dean for Liberal Arts.
