Catalog description
Indigenous art of North America prehistoric times to the present. Students study land art, architecture, carving, painting, pottery, and textiles in the context of their making and meaning. The traumatic impact of colonization on Indigenous people and their art will be discussed, as well as issues of sovereignty and governance. Prerequisite(s): Qualification for Presidential Scholars Program, or 3.5 GPA with approval of dean for Liberal Arts.
