Study of racism and antiracism in public art and architecture of the United States from the Colonial Era to today. We analyze historical sites, sculptures, murals, and multimedia installations as discrete examples of visual culture and in context as strategic exertions of social, legal, economic, aesthetic, and political power. Prerequisite(s): Qualification for Presidential Scholars Program, or 3.5 GPA with approval of dean for Liberal Arts.
