Catalog description
This course explores the culture of luxury in Indigenous American art across time. Students will study art and fashion made using precious materials like gold, jade, and feathers and examine their connection to sacred and political power. Discusses Maya, Aztec, Inka, Diné and other cultures and their continuing relevance today. Prerequisite(s): Qualification for the Presidential Scholars Program, or 3.5 GPA.
