Catalog description

Surveys Italian art and its contexts from 1400 to the late 1500s, covering the early Renaissance to the emergence of the Baroque, including within a global perspective. Students study traditions and innovations in style, subject, roles of artists and patrons, and modes of production within the flux of Renaissance history. Prerequisite(s): any 100-level HA course.
