Catalog description

Impressionist artists were fascinated by fashion—an obsession shared by almost everyone in nineteenth-century Paris. This course will consider why fashion and modern life became so critically important to artists at this moment and will explore the historic origins of the modern fashion system and of the modern art market. Prerequisite(s): Any 100-level HA and qualification for the Presidential Scholars Program, or 3.5 GPA.
