Catalog description
This course examines persuasion, emphasizing its role in shaping attitudes, beliefs, values, and behaviors. Students study major theories, analyze audiences, and design and deliver evidence-based persuasive speeches. They evaluate messages for credibility and ethics, practice refutation, and apply verbal, nonverbal, and visual techniques to enhance persuasiveness. Prerequisite(s): EN 131 or equivalent.
